| I guess you can call me a weekend warrior. HEre's some useful things I've come across.
REI bug hut - $40. Tents are expensive but I HATE mosquitoes. I came across this and it's probably my most used item. 1.5lbs, small packed. Great for warmer camping + hostels. I actually use this at home during warm - mosquito filled nights. hahahahaha.
Watch - $10 Walmart. I had my doubts but keeps the time and I've been snorkelling/surfing with it. Plus I don't care what happens to it.
Nylon stuff - Go somewehre humid? clothes never dry and stink it up. My shirts never dried and made the rest of my backpack smell mildewey. Underwear is uncomfortable damp. Nylon clothes will dry fast since you don't want to spend the time taking things to the laundromat.
Compass - One thing you learn from travelling with james, is that he chooses the wrong direction - consistently. When reading a map, this thing will tell you where to go once leaving the subway/hotel. You can get a watch that has it built in, but if you like your watch, you can get a watch band with a compass in it from REI, $10

| Hm, so they say the next new thing is sea turbines in order to generate electricity. But what would that do to the waves? Makes me uneasy.

| So I guess every person's dream for work, well, other than doing something you love, Um, and getting paid really well to do it, oh, and not having a boss.... and I guess being respected... whatever. Somewhere down the line on the description of your dream job is to be able to dress comfortably. Lucky for me, I have a lab position so not only do I not have a uniform (wait is that "an" since it's a vowel? Hm..) An uniform, but I can't really wear nice things because it just gets ruined. But they get you with the shoes. The only requirements I have are no short skirts and no open toed shoes. I HATE wearing socks. So I take them off as soon as I get in my car and I leave like 2 pairs of flipflops in there (one for emergencies). Today I was cleaning out my car and had to make an extra trip for a bag of socks. That is all.
